- In June 1941, he married Hanka Rechtleben in the ghetto. The wedding took place in Rabbi Mendelson's apartment at 10 Pawia Street. In 1942, he and his wife moved to Gęsia Street, to brother Froim's apartment. Apart from them, their parents lived there, sister Gołda Rothskin with four children, brother Luzer with his wife and Regina, the parents' pre-war maid. The brothers started building a hiding place. The door leading from the dining room to the bedroom was blocked by a wardrobe. They cut a hidden hole in the back of the wardrobe. Winter coats, suits, dresses, etc. were hung densely in the wardrobe. In July 1942, Hanka gave birth to a baby girl in a hideout at night. The next day, the father removed the Torah from the closet and performed the morning prayer in which 10 men participated. The girl was named Ester Małka. Hanka, while hiding in the hideout, breastfed the baby so that it would not cry. On September 6, all Jews were to come to Muranów for registration. Froim believed that they should not go, Ignatius, however, decided that they were going with the whole family. They found an empty apartment at 3 Wołyńska Street, on the fourth floor. As he looked out the window, a German bullet hit him in the cheek. Fortunately, the wound was not serious, a doctor treated him. The husband of Pola's sister, Mietek Presburgier, a Jewish policeman, found them there and advised them to leave the child and get out of that round-up thanks to the Ausweis. He persuaded them that they would still have children and that they should save themselves. He did not agree to this. He died with his wife and child in Treblinka.
