- Notes
- Her father, Samuel Rothstein, was the editor of "Dos Jidisze Togbłat" and the author of many books. Her mother, Gołda (Gienia), had a clothing shop at 35 Brukowa Street. Jehudit had three siblings. In the ghetto, they lived at 10 Pawia Street. In the ghetto, she attended clandestine classes with her sisters. On 6 September 1942, during the "Miła deportation action", the Frank family, including her mother, Jehudit and her siblings, found an empty flat and moved into it. While her mother, grandfather Naftali and sister Roma were absent from the flat, the rest of the family was deported. They were killed in Treblinka. According to another account, in 1939 her father, Szmuel, wanted to take the family out of Poland. When her mother refused, her father left for Palestine alone via Białystok and Vilnius, arriving there in 1941. In autumn 1940, her mother and the children were confined in the Warsaw Ghetto. In September 1942, the family received certificates permitting them to emigrate to Palestine. By that time, the three younger children had already been deported to Treblinka, where they were killed. Their mother met the same fate in January 1943.
