- Szprynca's husband, Wolf, left for England on business 10 days before the outbreak of war and was mobilized there as an officer in the Polish Army. Szprynca and her daughter fled from Piotrków (or Łódź) to the Warsaw ghetto, from where they were sent to their deaths in Treblinka. Nina, a talented eight-year-old girl, died together with her mother.
