- Her father Wolf had left for England on business 10 days before the outbreak of the war and, as an officer in the Polish Army, was mobilized there. Nina and her mother fled from Piotrków (or Łódź) to the Warsaw ghetto, from where they were sent to Treblinka to be exterminated. Nina, a talented eight-year-old girl, died together with her mother.
