- Ruth, her sister Bronia, her mother Miriam, Raisel with her child, and the two youngest siblings marched to the train. The family tried to hide in a building, but were eventually recaptured. Ruth and Bronia were then separated from the rest of the family. Ruth says: We knew it was terrible. We knew we would never see them again. Ruth never saw her mother, sister Raisel, her child, or her youngest siblings again.
