Her husband died in 1938 when their son was two months old. After his death, Izrael's widow and their son stayed in the home of her parents-in-law. In 1942, Chaja Symcha, her two married daughters, their husbands and children, daughters-in-law and their children, and her younger sons, Fajwel and Herszel, were taken away by train [to Treblinka] and were never heard from again.
