- After his parents and some of his siblings were deported from the Warsaw ghetto to Treblinka, Machel/Michael remained in the ghetto with his sister Adela and the little daughter of his brother Dawid, Hanusia. In 1943 they too were sent to Treblinka. During the transport, Machel jumped from the train. His sister and niece were murdered in Treblinka.
