On the morning of the deportation, Lejb and Miriam, with their four daughters and Miriam's mother, Sara, had to go to the square in front of the church, from where they were taken away. His son Samuel later learned that they were transported by horse-drawn carts (the elderly) or on foot (the rest) to Jędrzejów, 30 km from Pińczów, where there was a railway station. From there, they were transported to Treblinka and gassed on the same day. At that time, Samuel and his brothers (who were in hiding) had no idea about this.
