They had two sons of draft age in 1939 and 1938, Zewek and Hylek. Zewek – is Zew, in Hebrew translated as wolf. Hylek, I don't know the source of his name, but that's what he was called. Hylek was blond and passionate about horses. I suppose that living in Włochy gave him more opportunities to have contact with horses than he would have had in Warsaw. Both sons enlisted in the army in 1939, when the war broke out: the siege of Warsaw was already under way. Hylek, the one who loved horses, was in the cavalry. Normal. And he was captured, after a few days, he escaped and returned home.
