The parents of Zygmunt Szlama Brodchandel were Moshe Aharon Brodchandel, who died of typhus disease in the Warsaw Ghetto, and Lea (Topiol) Brodchandel, who perished in Treblinka camp in 1942. Zygmunt had five siblings: Yosef, Leon Leo, Esther, Rosa and Max. Yosef emigrated to England and then to the United States, after the war. Leo emigrated to Austria and then to Italy. Esther perished in Treblinka camp in 1942. Rosa died in the Warsaw Ghetto in 1940. Max perished in Majdanek camp.
