Notes
Blind Herszel Wolman left his hiding place by himself, stood in front of his home on Rytwiańska Street, and began to lament aloud for the destroyed and martyred Jewish Community. He sang songs of lamentation that suited the situation and burst into a bitter lament for the destruction of his people. He stood there for a few hours, and the passing German murderers did not have the heart to kill him. Only later did they send a Lithuanian murderer who shot him.
