Notes
Nika, Dr. Herman Alapin's second wife, came to Poland with him in 1919. They had one daughter, Halina (Lusia). The family was doing well before the war. During the war they found themselves in the ghetto. During the great action, she hid for a month in Lejzerowicz's tannery. She and her husband were deported to Treblinka on October 10, 1942. Her daughter Halina, when she came to their apartment, found only one sandal of her mother.
