- Notes
- The wife of Icek Heider, daughter of Moshe Kapela, owner of a carpentry workshop in Radom. She was taken from the Glinice ghetto in Radom. After the liquidation of the ghetto, my wife and I stayed to work, and the rest were taken to extermination. We never saw them again. [...] I flew to a point where there were already packed wagons, not for people, but for cattle. I still managed to see my beloved wife, only from a distance, because they didn't let anyone close. She stretched her hand out the window, holding money, and shouted: 'Give me water!' They took the money and didn't give water. The wagons were overcrowded and stuffed, worse than cattle. After a short time, the train started moving.
